How to Cook JAMAICAN Steamed CABBAGE. Veggie Recipe by Always Yummy!

Easy and simple is cabbage cooked in the Caribbean. Successful combination of veggies is fried over medium heat until al dente, a bit crunchy and half-done – juicy, bright, aromatic and mouth-watering. And no need in any meat addition. Jamaica style fried white cabbage comes out tasty and not heavy – a perfect dish any time.
✅ Ingredients:
• white cabbage – 1,5 lb / 700 g
• 2 bell peppers
• carrot – 5 oz / 150 g
• onion – 3 oz / 100 g
• scallion – 4 stalks
• tomato –9 oz / 250 g
• garlic – 4 cloves
• vegetable oil – 2 tbsp
• salt – 2 tsp
• ground black pepper – ½ tsp
• 1 chili pepper
• dried parsley – 1 tsp
• sweet paprika – 1 tbsp
• sugar – 1 tbsp
• butter – 1 oz / 30 g

📙 Preparation:
1. Cut the white cabbage, onion, bell pepper, carrot and scallion into strips. Mince the garlic and cut the tomato into medium pieces.
2. Note to cook over medium heat stirring constantly.
3. Heat the vegetable oil over medium heat in the pan, add the carrot and fry stirring for 2 minutes, then add the onion and stir, add the garlic and fry stirring for 2 minutes.
4. Add the bell pepper, tomato, white cabbage and scallion, stir well, add the salt, ground black pepper, paprika, dried parsley and ringed chili pepper. Stir and fry for another 15-20 minutes stirring constantly.
5. Add the sugar and butter and stir to melt the butter.
6. The Jamaica fried cabbage is not to be very soft, al dente – slightly crunchy.
7. If you prefer softer veggies, go on frying until readiness you like.
8. Serv the Jamaica style fried white cabbage hot.
