Crunchy Granola (Oil Free Granola)

Crunchy Granola is a simple homemade recipe. So normally you make granola crunchy by baking it with oil and syrup. I didn’t use oil and replace the syrup partly by banana purée to make this recipe a little more “light”. It still gets super crunchy.

  • 3 1/3 cups Rolled oats (300g)
  • 8 cups wheat puffs(90 g), or any other puffs
  • 1/3 cup raisins (50 g)
  • 1/3 cup chopped dried mango (50 g)
  • 1/3 cup dried cranberries (50 g)
  • 1/3 cup Goji berries (50 g)
  • 3 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla (grounded) or 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2/3 cup mashed bananas (2 medium bananas), (210 g)

  • 1/2 cup maple syrup


  1. Preheat oven to 325 F (160 C).
  2. In a big mixing bowl mix together oats, dried fruits, puffs.
  3. In a saucepan combine together mashed bananas, maple syrup, salt, cinnamon, cocoa powder and cook over medium low heat, stir constantly until you get a brown sauce, about 2 minutes.

  5. Combine together wet and dry ingredients.
  6. Toss onto the lined tray and press with spatula or your palm
  7. Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes. In the middle of the baking time (15 minutes) flip mixture and bake another 15 minutes.
  8. Allow to cool completely on the baking pan.
  9. Broke in small pieces
  10. Keep in an airtight container.
