Beef bourguignon

I am French and I am happy to share with you the beef bourguignon recipe. An old family recipe. A traditional and easy recipe! It’s one of my favorite dishes! The meat is so tender! The sauce is creamy. It’s a kind of stew. This dish was once eaten on toast rubbed with garlic. Each family has its own way of cooking it. But what a delight!! And it’s even better reheated: French secret! Good tasting !

Recipe :
1 kg 500 of beef for Bourguignon
1 large onion (or 12 baby onions if you have them)
Butter and oil
2 cloves garlic
2 tablespoons of flour
1 bottle of Pinot Noir – 750ml
2 bay leaves + dried thyme or 1 bouquet garni
1 tablespoon of tomato puree
1 cube of beef
200 g bacon bits (1 packet)
5 carrots
250 g button mushrooms or chestnut mushrooms
fresh parsley
